Site layout before pole selection

Mark the building axis, entrances, roads, landscaping, assembly areas, overhead lines and underground services. For multiple poles, define the center spacing, height relationship and the flags assigned to each position. Check whether flags can fly without contacting one another, the building, trees or lighting.

The final pole and foundation arrangement depends on the actual site and design basis. A photograph can show context, but it cannot establish wind conditions, soil capacity, pole section, foundation depth or lightning-protection design.

Manual and electric raising systems

Manual systems need an accessible, manageable and secure operating method. Electric systems add a drive, controller, power supply, cable route, controls, protection and a defined response to power loss or a jam. Identify who operates the system, how often flags change and how unauthorized use is prevented.

For an electric flagpole, separate the supply of the pole and drive from civil foundations, incoming power, earthing or lightning interfaces, control-box mounting and site restoration. The quotation should state who owns each interface.

Foundation and anchor interface

Use the confirmed pole base and anchor arrangement to check bolt count, spacing, hole pattern, projection, orientation, level and access for tightening. Trial-fit the delivered base or an approved template before concrete placement. Record dimensions and photographs before the work becomes hidden.

Foundation size and timing for lifting must follow the current project drawing, ground conditions, concrete strength evidence and construction plan. A generic web drawing is a coordination reference, not a substitute for project design.

Delivery and installation controls

Check road width, turning, unloading, crane position, outrigger support, exclusion zone and overhead hazards before dispatch. Protect finished pole surfaces during transport and lifting. Stop the operation when wind, ground support, overhead lines or personnel control do not meet the approved plan.

After erection, inspect alignment from appropriate directions, base connection, covers and finishing, surface condition, raising travel, rope or internal mechanism, controls and documentation. Close every snag with a named owner and completion record.
