Start with the door layout

Record the structural opening width and height, required clear opening, number of moving leaves, fixed side panels, opening direction and available storage space. A single sliding leaf, bi-parting pair, telescopic arrangement and swing leaf use different geometry even when the clear passage looks similar.

Measure the header, ceiling, side pocket, floor level and nearby walls. Identify glass, framed, timber, metal or composite leaves and note the estimated finished mass rather than the bare-panel mass. Handles, decorative cladding and seals change the final load.

Separate activation, safety and access control

Activation devices request an opening; safety devices monitor the travel or threshold; access-control devices decide who may enter. These functions should not be treated as one sensor. A project may combine radar or presence sensing, safety beams, push buttons, card readers, face terminals, electric locks and a fire signal.

Write the required behavior for normal entry, authorized entry, exit, hold-open, locked mode, fire alarm, power loss and manual release. The controller interface must be checked against that sequence before wiring starts.

Commissioning is a sequence, not a speed setting

First move the leaf manually where the equipment permits and check for rubbing, uneven guides or blocked travel. Then verify the mechanical installation, controller wiring and sensor zones. Run learning or setup procedures for the actual model, test low-risk operation, and only then confirm the required opening and closing behavior.

Acceptance should cover repeated cycles, approach from different directions, threshold occupancy, obstruction response, lock release, selected operating modes and power-loss recovery. Record the model, settings and any site-specific limitation.
